Description

I'm pretty happy with how this one came out! The moose was completely done by guessing except for the antlers because I couldn't find a stock photo that had the pose that wanted. So if it doesn't look quite right, that's most likely why. xD Despite that, the whole picture came together surprisingly close to what I imagined! This character is Lexus for MadisonLeah (madisonleah.deviantart.com/).

And happy new year! 8D

Hey there I am from Canipulate with your critique! (As you should know cause I seem to be doing all your pieces haha!)

Anywho, I have loved this one since I first saw it! I refrained from commenting on it because I saw that it was in the group and I didn't want to repeat myself. I am in awe that you drew the moose, it looks so good! Honestly, I thought it was a stock image for sure. Like lemme just sit here and stare at it longer because DAMN GURL! Seriously, ugh. I am super jealous of that and the anatomy looks pretty darn spot on to me! I really like the dangles on the antlers too, it adds a nice little touch. I must say that the blood is really well done and tasteful too, it's not over board and the blending/smudging of it makes it look really realistic. I love that one paw print in the snow, but it does make me question where the wolf came from and if there should be more. I mean they were probably able to jump there, and while it's a nice touch it does make me wonder.

For the wolf paws on the moose, I don't think it needs that much fur over the paws. I think even just having it flat would have worked! Moose fur is pretty medium length so it could do that, but realistically I think that the wolf would be pushing it all down. They have pretty long strands of hair! The snow on the moose itself is really pretty and your attention to detail is just top notch. The one thing that is a bit distracting though is the white lines on the snow. I am a bit lost as to why they are there, I'm not sure if you were trying to add more levels or make it looks more hilly but I don't think you need it. It just looks too 'drawn on' if you know what I mean. It looks good on the actual hills on the right, but not so much on the left. The ones actually under the moose are good too!

Your fur on the wolf and the moose is just omg. It's making me drool. I love the little curly flicks of hair and ahh I am just in awe of your style. Seriously I've tried to paint fur and I just cannot. xD So kudos to you! The fog on the background gives the whole image a more eerie mood, and the merging of the wolf stock is perfect. Amazing job, really! I hope this helps. <3
